The Campaign of “Preventing Bread Waste” is a social responsibility project initiated by our Prime Minister Mr. Recep Tayyip ERDOĞAN on January 17, 2013.
The Campaign will be carried out with the cooperation of all the state foundations and establishments, local administrators, universities, non-governmental organizations and private sector in order to reach all members of the society.
The “Campaign of Preventing Bread Waste” has the following objectives;
• To develop the society's awareness about waste,
• To prevent waste in the production and consumption stages,
• To ensure that bread is not bought more than needed and is preserved properly,
• To inform the society about the different ways of using stale bread,
• To contribute to the economy of the country by preventing waste,
• To call attention to the fact that the bread used to feed animals is also waste,
• To emphasize particularly the waste of bread as well as waste in general.
This campaign also encourages the consumption of “whole wheat bread” to ensure that the society acquires a healthier diet.
