Department of Plant Protection Machines

The Department of Plant Protection Machineries conducts research on the selection and use of appropriate equipment and application techniques for both plant and plant protection products, the determination of performance and effectiveness values, and the development and adaptation of new techniques and technologies for all pesticides against pests, diseases and weeds on cultivated plants.

The main study subjects are;

  • Use of new application techniques and technologies to reduce pesticide use,
  • To carry out prototype and project design studies in cooperation with the private sector in order to bring high-efficiency spraying machines with domestic technology to our country,
  • Transferring the pesticide application techniques and practices to reduce drift and especially the contamination in water resources,
  • Dissemination of Good Agricultural Practices (GAP),
  • Determining the spraying characteristics and increasing the effectiveness of the spraying by using non-contact and environmentally friendly measurement techniques and applications compatible with the canopy in field conditions.
  • Implementation of pesticide application techniques aimed at reducing drift and especially contamination in water resources,
  • Reducing the risks that may arise from pesticide application techniques in terms of Water and Food Safety and Agricultural Fauna and Flora,
  • Development of application protocols that will guide the more effective use of plant protection products,
  • Forming a remark in the preparation of national standards on plant protection machinery and test principles,
  • To be appointed to commissions in line with the duties given by our Ministry, to contribute with expert opinions in the formation of legislation,

To play a role in our country's participation in worldwide related organizations in terms of pesticide applications.
