Within the scope of the project "National Geographic Soil Productivity and Organic Carbon Information Management System (UTF / TUR / 057 / TUR)" carried out with the budget of more than one billion under the support of FAO by the Directorate of Soil Fertilizer and Water Resources Central Research Institute in 2012-2015.  With this Project; as well as determining the geographic database and mapping of some physical soil properties (EC, pH, texture, lime) and chemical soil properties(total N, eP, eK OM, eCa, eMg, eMn, eZn, eFe) of Turkey's agricultural lands, Turkey Soil Organic Carbon Distribution ( %) Map of Turkey Map of Soil Carbon Budget (t / ha) was created.

The first stage of study is prepearing % carbon distribution map and carbon budget map of Turkey Soils in addition to this  pH, soil salinity (EC), available phosphorus (P2O5 kg / da), lime (%), potassium (K2O kg / da), cation exchange capacity and texture maps were created. The obtained maps were opened in June of 2017 on the "Terrestrial Soil Information System" portal established on the official website of the Soil Fertilizer and Water Resources Central Research Institute (http://arastirma.tarim.gov.tr/toprakgubre).

The United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization (UNFAO) has linked the Organic Carbon Maps produced by the countries themselves to the World Organic Carbon Map within the scope of "Global Soil Stakeholder" in connection with the 5 December 2017 World Soil Day. The map produced by the Institute, "Turkey Map of Soil Carbon Budget" is used for Turkey

In this context, we would like to thank the FAO, the General Directorate and the staff of the project who supported the project.
