Breeding and Genetics

Projects are carried out to improve the yield and quality characteristics of different fruit species (Pistachio, Grape, Almond, Walnut, Olive, Pomegranate, Persimmon, Fig, Cherry and Plum) by using breeding methods such as adaptation, hybridization and selection.

For the preservation of our genetic resources and their use in studies, the collection of Pistachio, Almond, Vineyard, Walnut, Cherry and Olive species and varieties and the creation of field gene banks have begun, and 155 fruit varieties have been preserved until today.
