A visit, organized by ICARDA and included researchers from Jordan, was performed to get information about wheat breeding facilities.

The International Center for Agricultural Research in the Dry Areas (ICARDA) is a global research-for-development organization.  We envision thriving and resilient livelihoods in dryland communities of the developing world coming with robust incomes, secure access to food, markets, nutrition and health and the capacity to manage natural resources in equitable, sustainable and innovative ways.

Firstly, the researcher group visited Turkey Seed Gene Bank (TSGB). The group informed about plant genetic resources and ex situ conservation methods in Turkey. Then, the group visited departments of TSGB and took details about their task. After TSGB visit, the group continued the trip with Biotechnology Research Centre (BRC), where Fatih OLMEZ Cuma KARAOGLU gave a talk to explain structure of BRC and on-going project. The group finalized the trip with molecular biology and plant tissue culture laboratory visit.
